The Fisherman, is an original character of mine (and my first real 2D-animation project.)

The fisherman lives in a log cabin outside of a tiny coastal village nestled between a range of gentle, rounded mountains. The location is scenic but prone to strong winds. The village – although inhabited by few – is a lively place, with the occasional town market and festival taking place. As the local fishmonger, The Fisherman wakes up early every morning to embark on his daily tasks. He fishes by the sea using traditional techniques that have been passed down his family for generations.

The Fisherman is not a very talkative creature and prefers to keep to himself. He might appear unfriendly because of his unbothered demeanor and unvarying facial expressions. But despite his aloof appearance, he has a heart of gold.

The villagers hold him in high regard, respecting his hard work and admiring his unwavering commitment to his craft. He has been around for as long as anyone can seem to remember, although his true name and age remains unknown.

The fish? It started as a work injury in a sense. The fish clinged itself on The Fisherman’s ear during an
ill-fated fishing excursion, and despite numerous attempts, they were unable to part ways. Over time their connection grew into an unconventional, yet extraordinary friendship. In the evenings, after a long day of fishing, The Fisherman finds comfort in his favorite chair, savoring a cup of hot cocoa in front of the comforting glow of an open fire.
